Wow! It's been almost a week since I've posted! I have been keeping up on everyone's blogs as often as I can. We've had a very sick 7 month old here for the last week that has been taking a lot of my time. He is slowly getting better as each day passes.
I hope everyone has a very Happy 2009! I should be back on here blogging again soon!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Santa brought you everything you asked for!
Our Christmas was a good one. It started off kind of sour since it seemed we had a few Scrooges in our midst, but as the day went on, it went better.
Princess T, Lady J, Double A and Mr. Wiggles opened their gifts and loved everything they got. Santa brought them everything they asked for and then some. I wanted to take a lot of pictures, but I wasn't able to as it seemed that most of the adults in the house didn't want to help get the presents out from under the Christmas Tree, which left me to that task. Even with me taking up that task, no one seemed to want to take on the job of taking pictures. The kids and I still had fun!
After we opened the presents under our tree, we went to my Great Aunt B's house for our Christmas brunch. We made two hams and a turkey to take over there with us. With other people bringing more food over, we ended up with a ton of it! After we ate our brunch, we opened more presents that was brought over by other family members.
Once all that was done, most of us went to visit with my Aunt J. She was thrilled to have us there. We didn't stay very long because S was up very early this morning and needed more sleep before he goes to work tonight.
After we left from visiting Aunt J, I took S and Double A to the house and decided to go visit my grandmother's grave. T decided that she wanted to go with me. I hadn't been there in a few years, and I knew I needed to go. I figured today would be as good of a day as any to go visit her grave. At first, I had a hard time finding it because I hadn't been there in so long, but I eventually found it. We stayed there for a bit before going home.
Double A and Princess T are playing quietly with some of their gifts. Lady J and Mr. Wiggles are out with Skinny and W, still visiting other family members and will be back later tonight. S is getting ready for work and I am enjoying the quiet time I am getting before my house fills back up.
Santa brought me a beautiful vase set that would go perfect in my built in china cabinet that I have. I also got some wine glasses that belonged to my grandmother and some double shot glasses. I'm really not much of an alcohol drinker, but I adore the glasses used to drink the alcohol. For some reason, I always have.

T's birthday party on Sunday was a huge success and yes, I survived it! T got a few presents (some from me and some from Lady J), and she ended up with quite a bit of cash to buy herself whatever she wants for her birthday. T said that she was going to wait until after Christmas to see what Santa brings her, then she might go to the after Christmas sales and buy herself something that she wants. She said that the best part of having a birthday in December was the after Christmas sales! My little shopper, I tell ya!
I ended up having a full house overnight! I'm glad that it only lasted one night, otherwise I'd be out of my mind by now.
I finally finished all of my Christmas shopping yesterday. I'm so glad I got that done. Now I can focus on the Christmas dinner that I'm planning on having. I originally planned on having it at my house, but due to some last minute plans, we are going to my great Aunt B's house and doing a pitch in Christmas dinner. I'm making the turkey, ham, and a side dish (not sure what exactly, yet), Tater's girlfriend is making the potatoes, bread rolls, and something else (she's not sure yet), and my great Aunt B is making the pies, egg salad (no one can make egg salad like her), and sweet potatoes.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Pebbles. I sometimes call him Bam-Bam. If you can't tell, "The Flinstones" was our favorite cartoon! LOL!

11. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

20. What are you most looking forward to in the coming year?
The possibility of my Aunt J coming home from the rehab center/nursing home she is in.
No post yesterday! Ack! I didn't meet my goal last week! i'll try again this week though.
I was extremely busy yesterday. At least I didn't have to take the hour and a half drive to pick up Lady J like I thought I was going to have to. Skinny decided to drive everyone here to me instead. I am so glad that he did! He brought his girlfriend (I haven't thought of a good bloggy name for her yet), Lady J and Mr. Wiggles so that Lady J can be at T's birthday party like she wanted. They are going to stay here at the house for two whole weeks! Yay! Usually, they will come up for a weekend and stay at my cousin's, Tater's house (I'll blog about this name another day), but since his house is so crowded, they decided they will stay here. That means a lot of time with Lady J and Mr. Wiggles!
Skinny told me last night that he noticed Mr. Wiggles seems to like my house better than anywhere else, even than his girlfriend's mom's house, and Mr. Wiggles is there a lot. He said that it seems that Mr. Wiggles doesn't cry as much, seems to play better and seems more calm here than any where else he's been at. That makes me feel really good.
Double A got down on the floor and played with Mr. Wiggles yesterday. He hasn't got a chance to do that before yesterday and he really enjoyed having another boy to play with even though Mr. Wiggles isn't quite old enough to play with cars just yet. Before Mr. Wiggles was born, Double A was the only boy in the family. Double A was trying to teach him to play patty cake and Mr. Wiggles thought Double A's song was funny.
I'm pretty much ready for the birthday party we are having today. I've got party favors, crafts, games, prizes, dinner, cake and ice cream. We need a bit of birthday decorations, but Lady J and T are going to have that taken care of by party time today. T is having the time of her life, helping me with this birthday party of hers.
I hope everyone has a great Sunday! I will be taking pictures and I may post some up later on today or tomorrow.

I came across this Grilling Goodness meme a few weeks ago and thought I would play along this week. If you would like to play along too, go to Golden Goodness and link up so others can read your answers. While you're there, check out her blog!
1. What pain reliever do you swear by?
Excedrin Migraine! It really helps to relieve my unbearable headaches.
2. Have you gotten up-to-date with a flat screen HDTV?
No, not yet.
3. Have you honked at anyone lately?
No. I'm not a honking type person. I perfer to yell at other drivers like a crazy maniac and pretend that they hear every word I say.
4. What is your favorite household product?
My vacuum. Yes, it really is! I can use it on both the carpet and the regular floor and I love it!
5. What is the earliest you've gotten up this week and why?
The earliest I got up this week was about 4 in the morning. It was because I went to bed a little earlier than usual.
6. Do you travel out of town for Christmas?
Not usually. I have in the past, but I don't make it a tradition.
7. Have you been listening to Christmas music? (Favorite?)
Not this year. But, when I do, my favorite is Silent Night.
8. When do you exchange gifts with family?
On Christmas morning.
Double A and T are out for winter break starting today. It seems odd to me because their winter break started on Friday, instead of the regular Monday. The teachers are working on the end of the grading period today and when the kids go back to school, they will get their report cards.
I recently realized that both Double A and T have perfect attendance this grading period. This is normal for T, but Double A gets sick at least one time during the grading periods and usually misses one or two days because of it. This grading period, he didn't get sick! Yay!
Somehow, I got tricked into throwing T a birthday party on Sunday. I'm not quite sure how that happened, really. I think it had something to do with T coming home from school, telling me that she invited the boy that has the same birthday as her to her birthday party this weekend. Or maybe something to do with me mentioning a birthday party. I'll be a very busy bee this weekend.
There's planning, shopping, a ton of kids and a lot of driving on the yucky roads! Of course, sweet little T wants her best friend and cousin, Lady J, to be at her party and she lives over an hour and a half away. I have to do the driving of picking her up and taking her back home. That will be loads of fun and it will be worth it, too! I'll just pick up my little man, Mr. Wiggles (Lady J's seven month old brother), while I'm at it and any time spent with him, is always worth the jumping through any hoop in order to do it.
That's what I have planned this weekend, what do you have planned?
Thursday, December 18, 2008
A few evenings ago, T and Double A were sitting at the desk, doing their homework. I was sitting with Double A, helping him with his math. While we were sitting there T decided to start up this little conversation.
T: "Oh, by the way mom, today at school, we wrote to the women's prison. You know, the one we go by everyday?
(We USED to go by the women's prison everyday, but we don't anymore since we've moved into our new house.)
Me: (Looking up totally confused) "Say what?"
T: "Wait, mom. You know those gift bags we got last week?"
T: "Well they came from some of the women in that prison."
T: (Cheerfully) "Yeah! Mom, you know what they did? They came by the school because they wanted to say they were sorry for what they did."
Me: (Seizing this moment to let her know that even though someone does the right thing by apologizing for doing something wrong, it does not excuse them from facing the consequences of doing whatever they did wrong. For some reason, she came up with the idea that an apology should get her out of trouble which has never worked for her.) "Hold on, let me ask you something. When these women did the right thing and apologized for what they've done wrong, did they get out of prison?"
Me: "Well, what happened to them then?"
T: "They went back."
Me: "Well, why did they go back?"
T: "Because they still have to finish their punishment for doing what they did wrong."
Me: "So even though they apologized for what they did, they still had to face the consequences of their actions. Apologies, when you're grown, won't keep you from facing the consequences of what you do, do you understand that?"
T: (With a sigh) "Yes."
Me: "Well, what did you write?"
T: (Cheering up again) Well, I didn't write anything about them being in prison because Mrs. P said not to."
Me: "Okay, so what did you write?"
T: "Wait mom. Nelson wrote 'Dear Prison' and Mrs. P said not to write that, but to write 'Dear Ladies'. So, I wrote 'Dear Ladies, Thank you for the gifts. My favorite gift was the bag. I hope you enjoy...."
(All of a sudden T stops with a blank expression on her face.)
Me: (Turning more toward T) "You hope they enjoy what?"
T puts her hands up to her mouth in an effort to hid the smile that slowly crept across her face, and that's when it hit me.
Me: "Soooo, you didn't write anything about them being in prison, huh?"
T: "Oh, man! I didn't mean to!"
Thursday Thunks is a meme designed to make you think a little bit before you blog! Click the image below to see what other participants said. If you would like to play, link up with them while you're there!
1. If you had to have a brain transplant and had to choose between a cat brain and a dog brain, which would you choose?
Hhmmm... I'm thinking a cat brain. I think cats are smarter than dogs. They are cleaner, too.
2. Why do you think bananas are shaped the way they are?
I think bananas are shaped the way they are because God made them shaped that way. Now the reason that God made them shaped that way, I'm not sure.
3. Mayonnaise or Miracle Whip?
Miracle Whip by far! I can't stand mayonnaise, I'm not sure exactly what it is that I don't like about it, maybe the oily taste or something.
4. Do you use keyboard shortcuts?
Sometimes. I'll use Alt+A, Alt+C in projects I may be working on, and Atl+Ctrl+Del (only when needed), but other than that, I don't.
5. Are you a member at InsanityCafe Forums & Arcade? If not, you should be.
No, maybe I'll check it out when I'm done with this. To be honest, if this is an arcade type site, I might not become a member either. I'm not much of a games person.
6. Where I live it was a low of -19 degrees this morning - what was your low last night/this morning?
As of right now, it's 15 degrees.
7. Do you like hard boiled eggs?
Yes, I love hard boiled eggs! Yummy!! Sometimes, I'll eat the yoke of a hard boiled egg and sometimes I won't. I think it has more to do with the type of mood I'm in.
8. Have you ever drank green beer?
No, I haven't. I have heard of green beer though. I don't drink beer at all. I can't stand the taste of it. I'm more of a shot of tequila (or ten) kind of girl. But, I don't even do that to often.
9. What's your favorite cleaner?
Hhmm... Mr. Clean or Lysol.
10.White or whole wheat bread?
Either one. I like both and like to switch back and forth. It keeps my taste buds on edge.
11. Everyone has some type of phobia - what's yours?
Oh my, this is going to be long! I have several, but my biggest one is electrophobia! Have you ever just thought about all the things electricity can do to you? Oh my! I WILL NOT so much as plug something into an outlet if I have someone else around that will do it for me! I can use things that are plugged into an outlet, but if I have to plug it in myself, I have to stand there at least a half hour (not exaggerating here!) trying to talk myself into plugging it in. Then if it's something that can wait to be plugged in, I'll give up talking myself into it and just wait until someone comes around and have them plug it in for me. I mean think about it, if the electric wiring is bad in your house or in the wire of anything, you have a fire. NEVER overload an outlet either! Water and electricity together, and you're a goner! Electricity is evil, I tell you! You should see me when it's lightening outside! Don't tell ME lightening can't hit the same thing twice, I've read about one guy that was struck by lightening three times! I'm sure glad I don't know him and if I did, I'd at least know not to be around him when it's lightening outside! This really is a serious phobia for me. I can handle the other phobias I have a bit better than this one.
12. Aren't you glad there weren't any Christmas related meme questions?
It wouldn't have bothered me if they were. Which reminds me, there is a Christmas meme that I said I'd might do. Now I'm off to go do it!
Have a great day!

At the end of July, I moved from Tennessee to my home state, Indiana. I am slowly realizing all of the norms I have gotten used to while in Tennessee.
1. For the three years of living in Tennessee, I have somehow gotten used to the way one drives in Tennessee. It is much different than the way one drives here. In Tennessee, if one attempts to drive the speed limit they would literally get ran over, unlike in Indiana. The drivers in Indiana are more likely to drive the speed limit or slower.
2. There are a lot less potholes (craters, as I like to call them here) in Tennessee than there are in Indiana. My dad calls this "job security". I call it "robbing the taxpayers". Some potholes get so bad on the Indiana roads that they seem like craters. Some of them are unavoidable resulting in major necessary vehicle repairs in order to be able to continue driving said vehicle.
3. Tennessee schools are not as willing to allow their buses to drive on slick roads as the Indiana schools are. Tennessee schools call snow days at the slightest bit of snow. There has to be more than just ice on the roads before Indiana schools call snow days!
Being used to some of the Tennessee customs listed above, may be why I was more than just a bit annoyed this morning
when my kids and I had to slide to my car in order to slide the kids to their school because they should have had a snow day the last two days! Now, I have to get used to the Indiana traditions again!
Ahhh... Here is T and she just found her bag of goodies for her birthday!
Why does she have a coat on, you ask? You see in the winter time, my great Aunt B uses a pot belly cast iron wood burning stove to heat her house. Which looks a lot like this one.
(I snagged this from google images because I didn't want Aunt B to think I was crazy by taking a picture of hers for my blog!) Her stove isn't exactly like the one above, but it is the closest one to it that I could find. Anyway, when I take her back home from her daily visits with my Aunt J in the evenings, her house is really cold until the fire in the stove gets going really good, so I made T keep her jacket on.
T took each item out of the bag and admired each one of the items, telling Aunt B, "Thank you Aunt B, this is just what I wanted!" before taking the next item out of the bag! She did this with each and every item!
The contents in the bag were, construction paper, pencils, crayons, and a package of pens. (The kind that you take the cap off of before using it. That was the item at the very bottom of the bag).
After I took the above picture, T insisted I'd take another picture with a book lamp that Double A gave her for her birthday!
When we got home, T wanted everyone to sit in a circle so she could show off her birthday presents from Aunt B. She didn't have a lot of time to use these last night because she still had a bit of homework to do, but now she is in the dining room using them and her creativity.
This post is part of the "Wordful Wednesday" meme. If you would like to play, please visit the Seven Clown Circus blog.

When I asked T, about a week ago, what she wanted for her birthday, she said that she wanted school supplies. Well, apparently, I mentioned this to my great Aunt B last week while picking her up to either take her to see Aunt J or bring her home. Today I went to pick her up to take her to see Aunt J, and she pointed at a bag with stuff in it and asked if I wanted to take it home now or later on tonight when I brought her back home. Since she told me that I was to take it home, I went to the bag and peeked inside and oh, boy is T going to be thrilled!!
I didn't expect great Aunt B to get anything for her on her birthday. I know she doesn't have a lot of money to work with, but she did anyway. She bought T a little bit of construction paper, pencils, crayons, and colored pencils (at least I think they were colored pencils. The kind that you twist out, not sharpen. They could be the kind of pens that you push the top to make the point come out. Anyway, they were in the bottom of the bag and I didn't take the items out of it). She is going to LOVE everything!
In case I haven't mentioned it before, T is a creative girl. She loves to draw, paint, color and make things for people (especially for Aunt J, right now). She is very good at it, too, I might add! So, this is perfect for her to let out her creative side!
After thanking Aunt B for the wonderful presents she got for T and telling her that T would absolutely love everything, I told her that I would wait until I took her home tonight and I'll bring T with me when I do. I told her that I'll pretend that I didn't know anything about it and we'll just surprise her with it then. I can't wait to see the look on her face! I'm sneaking my camera in my purse before I pick the kids up from school today, so she won't have a clue that I'm up to something! I will post pictures either later on tonight or in the morning!

Yes, I know, this is a late Monday post! There are two birthdays in my family this week. First, today was my mother's birthday. I was going to do a big sappy blog for her today, but it got to late, and I didn't know what to say that I haven't already told her. Happy Birthday, mom from all of us!
Second, T's birthday is tomorrow. T isn't excited about it either. I mean, she didn't remind me about a hundred times that it was her Nana's birthday which meant her birthday was tomorrow! She is turning nine years old really, but she seems to think she's turning 21! She is my youngest one. I am planning on having a party for her on Friday since that will be the first day of winter break.
I received my kids' ISTEP test scores from the tests they had at the beginning of the year. I was so proud of both of them. Both of them had better than average scores on everything! They did a fantastic job!
1. santa - Reindeer
2. holiday carols - Silent Night (My favorite!)
3. snow - cold
4. mistletoe - kiss
5. season - greetings
6. candy cane - hanging on a Christmas tree
7. eggnog - yuck!
8. presents - surprise!

I love doing this meme! If you would like to join in, go here, if not, at least go read what some of the other participants answered!
Have you ever returned an item to a store for a refund after having used it?
Maybe once or twice a very long time ago. I can't really remember what the items were now.
You are going out for the evening. If your partner objects to what you are wearing, would you change your clothing?
No, I wouldn't. If I choose something to wear for the evening, then I would be more comfortable wearing that outfit than I would wearing something else. S never complains about something I wear though.
What item that you don’t currently possess would you most like to have in your home?
A dishwasher. I sure miss my old dishwasher! Maybe I'll get one for Christmas, but I won't hold my breath for one.

Since I made my goals last week with both posting at least once a day everyday and no memes all week, I figured that I can make time to blog at least a little bit each day. Even if it's just a couple of lines. As you can see, I plan on doing some memes again, but they won't count for me as a legitimate post. I will have several blog posts on here tomorrow.
Thanks to those of you who commented on my last post! I think that was the most commented on blog post that I've done so far!
Today was kind of quiet. Skinny came into town this weekend, but for some reason he didn't stop by here so that I could see Lady J and Mr. Wiggles before he left. He knows how I get when he does that, so when I talk to him again, I'll just have to remind him about it! T is also disappointed because she was looking forward to seeing Lady J. They are not only cousins, but they are best friends, too.
After next Thursday, the kids will be out of school for "winter break". That's going to be a lot of fun! I can't wait for that!
I haven't been able to decide if I am completely done with the side part of my blog. I am not sure if I want to add to it or not. Each time I think about it, I end up arguing with myself! It's that Gemini in me, I tell ya!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!
After being stuck at home by myself for two entire weeks, I was bored out of my mind! My brothers had went to visit cousins in another city and hadn't returned yet. When my dad came home one night, he informed me that I would be alone for at least another whole week. The boys had decided to stay with them for an extended time.
"Another whole week?" I thought to myself, "No way am I going to stay here and be bored out of my mind for another whole week, I'm going nuts as it is!"
That's when I decided to ask my father if he would mind driving an hour and a half away so that I could join in the fun that my brothers were apparently having while being there. After calling the Aunt that I would be imposing on, my father agreed to the drive.
When I got to their home, one of my girl cousins had decided to show me around the small town in which she lived. First, we went to her brother's place and when she said, "Come on, I want you to meet his roommate." I knew instantly, that she was already trying to play "match maker" with me and her brother's roommate. I knew it by her tone. She was always trying to play "match maker" with somebody and most of the time they weren't matches at all. Trying to avoid the game (because I really wasn't looking for someone that far away from my home), I told her that we could wait until later. Besides, I had the whole week, right? She wouldn't accept it and took me by the arm. We walked right up to his bedroom door and she knocked on it.
"What?" We heard a voice behind the door ask.
"Are you decent? I want you to meet my cousin. Can we come in?"
"Yeah, come on in," the voice behind the door said.
My cousin opened the door and introduced me to him. When I laid my eyes on S, I knew instantly that I would marry him and be with him for the rest of my life. At that moment, I did not want to admit to it. I even argued with myself on that. "No way," I said to myself. Mind you, that I did NOT want a relationship with someone so far away from my home.
I seriously tried to go on through the day without thinking about him, but to no avail. It seemed like every where I turned that day, he was right there. At the gas station, the park, McDonalds, and even my own Aunt's house! There was no getting away from him, I tell you! I thought for a minute that maybe he was stalking me, but then it WAS an itty bitty town and you really couldn't help but run into people there all day long.
Throughout the week we got to know each other better, he showed me around other places, and we enjoyed each other's company. A week after that, we started seeing each other and I decided to stay there for a bit longer instead of going home. Two years and two weeks later, we were married.
That was over 10 years ago. We are still very much in love with each other. Our marriage hasn't always been perfect, but we have learned and are still learning from the mistakes that we had made/will make. The most valuable things we have learned so far are that we can't sweat the small stuff and that our love for each other is truly strong enough to help us get through the rough times in life and boy have we had some rough times!

Today is my seventh day in a row of posting on here! I knew I could do it! Since I did not do any memes on any of the seven days, that means I went the whole week without doing any memes, too! I reached both goals on the same day! I am so glad that I was able to do that because I am now looking forward to posting in part of Sunday Scribblings! The topic is a good one and I can't wait to post mine, but I am still going to wait until tomorrow to post it. If you would like to do it, just hop on over there and link up with them! At least go over there and see what others posted about the topic.
Today was a rough day for me. I had a horrible migraine today. You know the kind that totally wipes you out? The type that makes you think your brain is going to burst if you so much as formed a single thought in your head? Yeah, it was one of those! I finally have it down from a migraine to a mild headache as of right now. Hopefully, I'll be able to sleep the rest of it off tonight and it will be completely gone by morning.
Even though I had a nasty headache, I spent the day at home with T. We sat down and watched "Tinker Bell" together. She had already seen it, but I hadn't. She let the beans spill through the whole movie. That's okay though, it saved me from having to figure out what was going on with the migraine that I did have. We enjoyed ourselves anyway. Double A spent the day with his daddy. S works nights now and it doesn't give him a lot of time to spend with the kids. Double A gets to really missing him when he works nights, so Saturdays are usually our day to have our "Family Day". Since money is tight right now, we've been having our "Family Day" at home and since Double A thought "Tinker Bell" was a girl's movie, S and Double A did their own thing together.
Everyone have a good night tonight and a great day tomorrow!

See, I can keep a promise! Bet you thought I wouldn't post about T's program today, didn't you! Things have been busy today, too!
Yesterday morning after T was all dressed in her school clothes, I noticed that she was still growing taller! That girl has been growing like a weed, I tell you! I told her that I wished she would quit growing taller just a little bit and grow a little wider instead. This was her response to me:
Loser and I don't want to do that!"
We got to the school yesterday evening and she couldn't remember exactly where her class was supposed to meet. I was told that they were supposed to go to the Media Center. Then, I was told that they were supposed to meet in the cafeteria and after that, I was told that they were supposed to meet in their classrooms. When we got to her classroom, her teacher informed us that she was supposed to go to the cafeteria. T decided that she wanted to stay with her teacher and go to the cafeteria with her teacher, which her teacher said was fine with her.
Waiting for her program to start, was a bit nerving. Double A started writing in his notebook. That boy loves to write in his notebook. After a bit, he got bored with the notebook and had to move around. If you know Double A, then you know he cannot sit still for ten minutes, well he can when it comes to a $2 bet (that's for another post), but other than that, he's got to be up and moving until something can get his attention. I was finally able to get his attention by writing an entry in his notebook and luckily he decided to stay sitting with his notebook.
Finally the program started. The school band played a few songs, one of them being Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. Double A decided he would sing that song loud and proud. I recorded a little bit of it because it was kind of funny!
After the band played, the "Hip Hop Dance Club" that they have as an after school program danced for everyone on stage and then finally they brought out the choir class to sing. My baby girl was in the first row. She had a time finding me, but after I waved my arms in the air like a nut (because I would rather do that than yell her name), she finally succeeded in finding me.
I am going to have to talk to her about the importance of paying more attention to her instructor than paying attention to the fact that I was watching her. I guess she thought I would just up and disappear or something because she never took her eyes off of me. Then again, maybe I made her a bit nervous! I hope that's not the case and if it was, she never said it.
She sang really good and I could hear her sweet voice throughout all of the songs! She had a great time performing for us! We stuck around after the program to buy some items at the "Santa Shop" that they had at the school for a fund raiser. That, and of course, we had to get a picture of T, her teacher, and Double A together!!
I was going through some of the videos and pictures that I had from the program and now T can't wait until I put the videos on one DVD for her so that she can watch and perform for us over and over!

This evening was very busy for us. We only had an hour in between the time that I picked the kids up from school and the time T had to be back at school for her program. That was a rush, especially since I had to finish getting ready for it and then I had to pick up my great Aunt B before going back to the school. T was so excited that B was there. I think she went to one of Double A's programs and now she's went to one of T's programs.
T did a great job at her program. Her class sang about five different songs! I could hear her little singing voice throughout all of the songs, she sang so loud! I guess she wanted to be sure that we heard her. I am really proud of her! I was able to get a picture of her and her teacher. I know that I promised that I would have pictures up tonight, but I still have to go through all of them, so I probably won't be posting any pictures up until tomorrow.
I hope everybody's day went well! Now I'm off to get some sleep!

After watching "The Biggest Loser" last night, I went online and voted for who I wanted to see in the finale. I went ahead and voted for Heba to make it to the finale because I figure that Michelle (the last black team member) would have a better chance of winning by going against Heba than she would if she went against Ed. I have learned that men lose weight faster and easier than women. Once I finished putting my ten votes in, I went to other blogs and noticed that there were a lot of people voting for Ed just to spoil their plans of having Heba make it in the final three. They are figuring that Ed and Heba will expect Heba to be voted to be one of the final three and Ed may not work so hard at losing the weight, therefore it would give Michelle a greater chance of winning. If Ed does make it to the final three, I sure hope that what other people suspects actually happens because I would love to see Michelle win it!! As, I have noticed, does a lot of other "Biggest Loser" fans!
The meme for today is Wordless Wednesday! Click on the link and check out everyone's Wordless Wednesday posts! The memes for tomorrow are Thursday Thunks and Writing Prompts both are designed to make you think before you post! I figured I would post the memes for tomorrow, today to give you enough time to join in if you want. I can't wait until my "no memes for a week" goal is over because I am so ready to join in on these memes! They look like they are fun to do!
I caught T shaking her butt, moving her arms from one side to the other like a Hawiian dancer and singing "I get all the heat!" this morning, before she got ready for school. She was on top of the heater vent while doing this. I don't know what got into her, but she stopped as soon as she saw that I caught her doing it. I would have gotten a picture of her if I had the time to! She was so darn cute! Speaking of T, her birthday is this coming Tuesday. When asked what she wanted, she said, "School supplies." Can't she figure out something else other than school supplies? She could get that anytime. Nope... That's what she wants for her birthday.
Today was call in to work gay for a day. It really didn't make much of an impact here. I don't even think it made it on the news. Our local radio station did announce it and spoke about for about five minutes. I support it, but I think it is bad timing with the way the economy is. Maybe, they can try again when the economy is in better shape and maybe then it will make the kind of statement they intended to make today. Maybe....

Yep, that's right, the snow is all gone!! It's been raining all day so now we have an icky muddy swamp in what used to be our backyard! The temperature got up to 50 today as predicted, but now the temperature is supposed to drop back down tonight! Yuck! I hope there will not be a big icy mess in the morning!
Has anyone else noticed that the gas prices are still dropping? It's gotten down to $1.35 a gallon here! It was reported on the local news station that the price is supposed to drop all the way down to $1.00 a gallon! I absolutely don't believe that myself, I will have to see it actually drop all the way down to $1.00 before I believe it! The last time it was that low, I had just started driving. If I remember correctly that wasn't long after I had my first child, that would have been about 12 years ago! Go ahead, think about it! It has been a while, hasn't it!?
Now since I've given you something to think about, I am off to watch my favorite show, "The Biggest Loser"! I think there is one week left before we find out who "The Biggest Loser" is! I am so rooting for the single black team (sorry, I forgot what her name is)! If you watch "The Biggest Loser" who are you rooting for?

I've added another goal to my "goal list" this week. Along with posting on this blog everyday for a week, I am going to not post any memes this week. I have quite a few memes in a row on this blog and I want to try something different this week. Now just because I'm not doing any memes this week, does not mean you can't do any memes this week! Today being Monday, you can head over to either MckMama's blog and join in on the "Not Me Monday" meme (which by the way, are very fun and I enjoy reading everyone else's "Not Me's") or you can head over to Manic Monday and answer the questions there! What the heck, why not do both? While you're there, don't forget to read what other bloggers posted on each meme. I may do both next Monday, stay tuned to find out!!
I think the snow around here will be gone soon! It's supposed to rain most of the night tonight and it's supposed to get up to 50 tomorrow. With the temps going from 30 to 50, it is almost safe to say that someone around here will get sick! I am hoping that it won't be Double A, he can't handle the colds and when he gets them, his asthma is always the worst! Thank goodness he got his flu shot this year!
T didn't seem upset about going to school with snow on the ground this morning. She loves school and was always disappointed when the schools closed because of snow in Tennessee. T is in a Christmas program at her school on Thursday night. I will be taking pictures and recording the program, of course! I will post the pictures afterward! I hope everyone is having a great Monday!
Now what are you waiting for? Go check out the "Not Me Monday" and "Manic Monday" memes!

I think I am finished with my blog background and blog title. What do you think? I did it myself and it took a little bit for me to get the hang of it, but I think I got it now! Next, I am planning on redoing the side bar. I am planning adding a few things and taking off a few things. Watch out for those changes!!
T is officially learning the difference between Tennessee and Indiana weather! Yesterday morning when the kids woke up, there was snow on the ground. It wasn't a big deal to them as they had seen snow on the ground in Tennessee before. Ahhh, but this morning T woke up and looked out of her window. To her surprise, the snow was still there!! She came marching down the steps saying, "Mom, who ever heard of snow on the ground with the sun out?"
After explaining to her that the temperature outside is what melts the snow, she went on her merry way. I just hope she's not to disappointed when she finds out that the kids also go to school with snow on the ground in Indiana!

I know, I've been gone for a while! Things have gotten a little crazy around here, but now they are slowly going back to normal. I've been making changes on this blog, so tell me what you think! I'm making a goal to post everyday this week. Stay tuned and see if I achieve it!! Thank you to those who left comments on my last post!!
An update on the little brown and white spotted dog and the solid white dog. T and I noticed this past week that the little brown and white spotted dog has been on a chain and the little solid white dog hasn't been seen all week long. I thought maybe the owners took the little solid white dog in the house and had finally put the little brown and white spotted dog on the leash, since my brother, Skinny, didn't take it to well when the little brown and white spotted dog tried to go after Lady J when they came to visit last Sunday. Sadly, that wasn't the case. While visiting me last night, Skinny told me that the little solid white dog had gotten hit by a car. He said that he seen it happen when he left last Sunday night. That poor dog! Hopefully, the owners learned something from this! We shall see!!

I noticed that the little brown and white spotted dog that tried to go after T yesterday morning was out running around again today, along with one my other neighbor's solid white dog. Both of them were across the street in the gas station parking lot. I wonder how nice the next person that the little brown and white dog tries to bite will be. I'm betting not so nice. Ah, well, I guess they won't get the message until it's to late!

We just moved into our new place about three weeks ago. One of our new neighbors has a little brown and white spotted dog that they let run around freely. At first, this brown and white spotted dog seemed friendly, until about a week ago. I was in T's room, opening her curtains to let some sun shine in, when I noticed a man walking his dog cursing at the little brown and white dog and checking his leg, as if he was just bitten.
"Hummm... I better keep an eye on that dog," I thought to myself.
This morning T went out the door to go to the car to be taken to school like she does every morning. The next thing I knew, I heard a dog furiously barking, T screaming and running back in, slamming the door behind her. She was extremely frightened by the little brown and white spotted dog. He had actually went after her! When I went out the door, he backed off and went on his own little way. Bad dog, going after my daughter like that!!
I have talked to the owners of the little dog about it. I hope they put him on a leash or chain or something to keep him from biting anyone (or anyone else, if that man was already bitten by him).

If you would like to play, go here.
1. What's your favorite Halloween Costume? Do you still dress up for Halloween?
I enjoyed dressing up like the possessed girl in Exorcist, when I was a kid. I don't have a favorite Halloween Costume as an adult. I still dress up for Halloween once in a while.
2. Pumpkin Carving, is it fun or overrated?
Pumkin Carving is fun, even though I don't do it every Halloween.
3. What's your fav Halloween treat?
My favorite Halloween treat is popcorn. My grandmother used to hand out popcorn to all the kids who came to her house on Halloween night for a treat. One Halloween I had asked her why she handed out popcorn instead of candy, and she told me that popcorn was a lot healthier for kids and the kids would get a bag full of candy from the other houses they went to. I would always eat the popcorn before anything else.
4. Do you watch scary movies? If so, what are your favorites?
Yes, I do watch scary movies. I love scary movies! My favorites are, Fire Starter, Carrie (both one and two), House on Haunted Hill, The Others, The Sixth Sense, and White Noise.
5. What's your favorite scary book?
My favorite scary book is Scream.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to taking my kids to the park, tomorrow my plans include spending time with my husband and kids, and Sunday, I want to watch the Colts game and relax!

This is a letter T wrote to her Nana:
We love you. We miss you. I am having fun with mom's cameras. We can't wait to see you next week.
(and Mommy and A.A and Daddy)
Yesterday was our first full day in Indiana. We went to S's mom's house to surprise her and his brother. After staying there for a while, we went to visit my oldest son's grave. It had been a while since we were there. A.A got a little upset, but it was not as bad as the last time we went. K (my sister-in-law) put a small beautiful baby angel and a small baby with a rattle figure on the bottom of his headstone.
Afterwards, we went to my cousin's house. We hadn't been there in a while and A.A was a little disappointed that her son wasn't home. T had fun playing with her daughter though. After chatting with her for a bit, we decided to go back to S's mom's house.
Before going back to S's sister's house, we drove around town checking out different places we used to go to before we moved to Tennessee. Things sure have changed around here in the last two and a half years. People have been moving out left and right because the jobs that were here before we left are gone now. I couldn't believe how many empty houses there were. The city took out the park by the old police station. I did go by my aunt's old house. It hasn't changed much at all. I guess no matter how much some things change, other things stay the same.
Hi! This is a Double A post.
Yesterday uncle R said his two trucks are T's, R's and mine. He will pick T and I up in his white truck and we will fix the black truck today. I am excited!!
Friday, July 18, 2008
Hello! We made it to S's home town and are visiting with them for a little bit. It is so hot here right now! At least it's a bit better than it was last night. The kids and Spot were on their best behaviors. I was so proud of them! Once we got here, I made a video and T helped me edit it. She is going to be my little producer, I can tell already!
Spot found him a buddy and they play well together.
There is so much to do today, I don't know where to start.
Tuesday, July 15, 2008
It has been a while since I have posted to this blog, but I am back! A lot has happened in the last seven months. I have been working, my uncle has moved closer and I have been making time for my family. My nephew was born a little over two months ago and he is such a cutie! I am not just saying that because he is my nephew either. I have been making a lot of trips to Indiana and we have been getting to know each other. The last time I went to Indiana, he stayed up longer than he did before. We had so much fun playing together. I had him grinning, laughing and cooing at me. I didn't want to leave when it was time to go, he didn't want me to leave either.
I have a relative in Indiana that has been really sick for the last month and a half. In the wake of that, my family and I have decided to move back to Indiana to help her out. The last week I have been packing and am almost ready to go. It is so hard for me to leave this place behind. I have been so happy and blessed here. I have to keep reminding myself that I have family here, too and I can always come back to visit. When I remind myself of that, I do feel a little better. Moving back to Indiana is something that I need to do at this time and it can't be helped.
If you are reading this, mom, I love you and I'll miss you like crazy. I am glad that you understand why I need to move back at this time. Thank goodness for modern time technology. We have email, pictures and videos to help pass the time in between visits so look for them over crowding your email. I may even send more email to you than what you get in your spam mail. There is always a phone, too. I love you, mom!
I am going to finish the last bit of packing I need to do before we go.

My brother called me the other night and told me that his girlfriend finally had her ultra-sound done and found out that they are expecting a boy!! I am so happy for them! 'A' is the only boy out of all the kids on my side of the family, so he is thrilled that he isn't going to be the only boy anymore.
My brother has decided to name the baby after him, but since 'A' has the same middle name as my brother, my brother wanted to make sure that 'A' was okay with sharing his middle name with his cousin. Of course, 'A' was honored.
We have yet to find out what my sister is having. 'A' is hoping that she is having a boy, too, that way it will even out the boys and the girls.
