I didn’t utilize and stick to my “to do” list as much as I should’ve this past week. My goal for the next week is to buckle and ensure that I stick to my “to do” list! Though I still finished my homework in time this past week, I had just a little bit to do on Sunday morning before we could have our “Family Day”.
For our “Family Day” we decided to take another trip to the Children’s Museum. Though we went the week before last, we wanted to go again and take Lady J, Butterball, and K with us this time around. We had a blast!
Lady J and Princess T served ice cream to Butterball at the Ice Cream Shop.
Then we went to Europe, where we stopped and let Double A order something from the menu of a little coffee shop, while Princess T took his order…
And Lady J and Butterball worked hard at fulfilling his order…
They still weren’t fast enough, as Double A loudly complained about the service he got…
He suddenly turned into Chef Gordon Ramsay!
Even after they filled his order and the orders of others they still weren’t tired…
By the time we got home they were wore out and so was I, but I wouldn’t trade the time we had for anything in the world!
Though I didn’t utilize my “to do” list as much as I should have, I still got a lot done this past week. Princess T and I are now able to donate our time to our local animal shelter as we completed the necessary orientation and this past Friday we spent an hour of our time volunteering and played with the cats. Princess T really enjoyed it as she loves cats, but we can’t have them as pets since Double A is allergic to them.
I’m hoping for a more productive week this week!

It’s time for another Saturday 9! It’s time to answer nine simple questions! To join in on the fun, click here and link up! Don’t forget to leave a comment so I can read your answers, too!
1) Has anyone ever told you that you resemble a celebrity?
When I was younger, people would tell me that I reminded them of Shirley Temple because I had a head full of curls like she did.

2) Is there an actress or actor whose movies you make it a point to see?
I make it a point to see Bruce Willis’s movies. I have seen every one of his movies so far and have most of them. I’m not usually crazy about older bald men, but there’s just something about Bruce Willis that just makes me… Well, uhm… Yeah…

3) We're stopping for refreshments before we go in to see the movie. What's your refreshment stand order?
A refillable popcorn with extra butter and a Sprite.
4) When did you last consume an alcoholic beverage? What was it?
The last time I consumed an alcoholic beverage was on New Year’s Eve and it was a few wine coolers, if you want to count them as alcoholic beverages… If not, then I would say the last time I consumed an alcoholic beverage was near the beginning of November of 2012 and it was Jack Daniels…
5) Are you jumpy? Do you startle easily?
I don’t consider myself jumpy or an easily startled person. I’m usually very aware of my surroundings, even when it seems I’m consumed in something.
6) Do you wear a watch?
No, but I do need to start wearing one as I’m always wondering what time it is when I have no clock or watch around.
7) When was the last time you tried a new restaurant?
The last time I tried a new restaurant was 2012 and was called “Madison Grill”. It’s a restaurant that was renovated from an older one that is no longer in business. I enjoyed my first time visit so much that it is one of my main choices when going out.
8) What color is your wallet?
I don’t carry a wallet, but if I did, it would most likely be black.
9) How much does it have in coins right now?
I don’t keep coins in a wallet or in my purse. I keep them in a special throughout the year.
See, that wasn’t so bad! Click the link above to add your link to the list and don’t forget to comment here, so I can read your answers!

This past week was my first week into my new class. It seems, so far, that this class is basically a merge of all the skills that I’ve taken from the last four classes thus far. I’m never quite sure if I will enjoy the class during the first week, and it’s the same with this class. By next week, I will know for sure if I will enjoy what I’m learning or if I will have any kind of issues. I could make a list of issues that I’ve had in my prior classes, but I won’t. Regardless of issues that I’ve had in prior classes, I’ve never let those issues affect me enough to give up or to work less than my best and that’s the important part, right?
In an effort to achieve my goal for this year in managing my time better, I made a “to do” list each day this week. I wanted to experiment and see how well it would work for me. In the end, I had two “school work free” days! I don’t think I’ve managed that since I started school and I don’t think that I managed to have a Sunday as one of those days!
I am proud of myself being able to free up a couple of days to spend with my family this week, but during my experiment, I learned a few things. For instance, I’ve learned how easily I can get distracted by doing other things, when I should just be focusing on one thing at a time. I found myself wanting to “wander” away from the “to do” list that I’ve made for the day and do other things instead. I did manage to stay on task by reminding myself that whatever had distracted me didn’t matter at the moment and to do only what was on the list, that I could make another list later. Sticking to it and reminding myself that other things didn’t matter at the moment allowed me to be more productive than I thought. I also found that I would make lists based off of my “to do” list. Some of those types of lists that I made really didn’t need to be made as they were “common sense” type lists. This upcoming week, I will work on not making such “common sense” type lists and see how that goes for me. I think the most important thing that I did learn while making those “to do” lists was the time that I allowed myself to work on certain things. For instance, I allowed myself to work on my school work for a set period of time and as “a break” from school work, I'd allow myself to do housework for a set period of time, and then go back to school for another set period of time. On my “to do” list, I would have my time periods listed. To ensure that I kept to the time I listed, I would set an alarm on my phone to alert me of when my time was up and it was time to work on something else.
This past week is the first time that I tried to take any of these steps to manage my time and it has really helped. It has even gave me time to deal with unplanned issues which is always good. I plan on utilizing these steps for next week and see how that goes for me.

It’s been a long while since I’ve done a meme post, so I figured, why not? If you would like to join in on this fun meme, then click below, and without further ado!
1) It's a brand new year! Do you have any resolutions for 2013?
I have a list of resolutions, though I try not to call them “resolutions,” but goals instead. One of my goals for 2013 is to manage my time better! If you would like to know what my other goals are then feel free to read my previous post!
2) Dusty Springfield sang of feeling "brand new." What leaves you feeling refreshed and/or rejuvenated?
I can easily pick up negative energies throughout the day, so one thing that I like to do in the middle of the day to feel rejuvenated for the rest of my day is a quick five minute meditation. It really helps when you’re feeling stressed, too.
3) Dusty's given name was Mary Catherine. If you could give yourself a brand new first name, what would it be?
Well now, I guess I must reveal my secret now. Are you sitting down for this? Good, here it goes. My real first name isn’t “Elisabeth,” but if I could give myself a brand new first name, it would be!
4) Actor Billy Bob Thornton has dismissed antiques, saying, "I'm creeped out by old stuff." Do you ever shop at estate sales, yard sales or second-hand stores? Or do you want everything brand new?
I like to save money as much as I can, so yes, I do shop at yard sales and second-hand stores. I’ve found quite a few interesting treasures at yard sales, actually.
5) Are you sad to see the holiday decorations slowly disappear until next year? Or do you think they should come down on January 2?
Nope, I’m not sad to see the holiday decorations disappear until next year. Actually, if I had my way, I think they should come down on January 1st! But, that’s just me!
6) Do you like the picture on your photo ID?
No. Who does?
7) Crazy Sam shudders at the very thought of a snake. Which is your least favorite member of the Animal Kingdom?
Crazy Sam and I have something in common. Eeeww snakes, and eeewww rats, too! I don’t like either of them.
8) What's the most recent magazine you flipped through?
It’s been so long since I flipped through a magazine, that I forget. It was most likely a magazine with slow cooker recipes in it.
9) Do you have nice handwriting?
I wish I had nice handwriting!
Okay, it’s your turn to join in on the fun. I would love to see what your answers were. Thanks for dropping by and make sure to leave a comment so that I can check your answers out, too!

I could do a review of 2012 in this post, but all I really see is that my major focus in 2012 was my classes and school. That isn’t going to change much for 2013, as I have bigger plans and dreams for the future and going through school is just one step toward those plans and dreams. As I went back through 2012 yesterday there were a few things that I did realize that I will need to work on for 2013, however and this is how I came up with my list of goals for this coming year.
First, I need to manage my time a lot better. Through 2012, I have asked a lot out of those that are very dear to me and sacrificing their time with me was one of them. I hate to admit it, but over the past year, I’ve not taken enough time out to spend with my loved ones and found it easy to say, “I have school work and it’s tough!” And indeed, my school work is tough, but I also can’t buy back time spent with my loved ones. So, for this year, I will manage my time better so that I can have a better balance between my time with school work and my time with family and friends. To my family and friends who are reading this, I cannot thank you enough for the understanding you’ve had through the past year in knowing that my education and goals are very important to me, and thank for understanding without complaints when I wasn’t able to take time out to do things together.
Second, I want to be more creative in my writing. I challenged myself this past November to complete the “NaNoWriMo” challenge and can proudly say that I succeeded. For those who aren’t familiar with “NaNoWriMo,” it stands for “National Novel Writing Month” and is in the month of November. The goal is to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. During this challenge, I opened up a creative side in myself that has seemed have been “sleeping” for several years and it felt great to awaken that side of myself. I want to continue to feed it in hopes that something better will be created.
Thirdly, as with every year, I want to write more than I did the previous year. In 2012, with the exception of “NaNoWriMo,” letters, and class work, I barely wrote anything and I need to change that. I can’t expect creative writing to flow if I don’t write, so my second and third goal goes quite nicely together. Working the time in to write on top of spending more time with family and friends, and class work is where the challenge is for me. And the first thing to do is to make sure that I use all of my time wisely!
So, how about you? What are your New Year’s Resolutions/Goals for 2013? I would love to know, so please share!
